What if the electors were to campaign instead of the actual candidates?

They're who we technically vote for. They're nominated by their party in a similar manner the presidential candidates are nominated. They wouldn't campaign in exactly the same way, of course. In one respect, they'd be campaigning on behalf of their party's candidate. There are laws in 24 states punishing faithless electors, and in Pennsylvania, the candidate nominates his/her electors to discourage faithless electors, so why not? What if the electors were to campaign instead of the actual candidates?
That sounds like change we don't need. What if the electors were to campaign instead of the actual candidates?
Punishing faithless electors by law? Man, America's laws are more fcuked up than I thought!
