What is the best way to volunteer to help Obama campaign in a heavy Republican area?

I live in an area with a lot of knuckle draggin' red neck Republicans. Most are military/ex-military and were big Bush supporters. I'm wondering the best way to help out the local Dems this election. However, I don't want to be jumped by these Republican thugs while I'm hanging an Obama sign, etc. Thanks so much for any ideas. I feel for ya on that one. You can always check out his website, (i'm pretty sure youve already done this) and then readup some more on what his campain ideals are, and try to bring them into conversations casually if the oppertunity strikes. Make flyers %26amp; pamphlets and leave them on the windsheilds of people's cars, put the on their doors, whatever. There's alot you can do to help the obama campaign, with out getting beaten up (lol) :) if you must, then do it in secrecy, most likely noone will catch you or even see you for that matter. In addition to bringing up obama's plans, you could also bring up the negative side of McCain (in ways that a repulican would find negative) ex: he says that payroll taxes are ';on the table';. Another thing you can do is try to find some other people with democratic views and get them involved in your movement. It's great that you want to do someting to help Obama, way to represent! i would make brochures that talk about tax issues and issues republicans think obama is wrong on(which he reaally isnt).


then compare it too mccain. basically make it obvious that obama is a better choice for them. this really isnt hard to do.

Go to your local Dem office and say I am here to help. I live in west Michigan which is about 60% Republican and and 40% Democratic, in 2004 I got to map out the door knocking routes, it was fun.

or you can just demonstrate suport by sticking obama signs everywhere(don't leave witnesses or fngerprints)
Be as informed as you can on Obama's views and ideas. The more information you have the better you can relay it to other voters.

I for example live in a heavily Republican area (WV) but most of my volunteer work involves Ohio and PA.
Republicans like to do their own thinking so you're wasting your time. Republicans also LOVE their country and would never consider a man who so obviously dislikes this country!
I think Obama would do the most sensible thing possible, move to an area with mostly liberal democrats.

You could always ';volunteer'; at the convention in Denver, I hear he needs the help at Invesco Field .
go on his website and see if there is any volunteer work close to your area. I'm sure you will be able to find something. even if it's just making calls or sending emails for support. good luck :)
