What the heck is a negative campaign add?

I saw ';negative'; Obama adds that just quoted McCain then showed video of him saying what the add said.

I also saw ';negative'; McCain adds that just flat out made stuff up like the accusation that Obama was all for teaching kinder gardeners how to have sex.

I'm just getting a little sick of the right still complaining that Obama had soooo many more negative adds than McCain when all they offered was suspicion and overt lies. What the heck is a negative campaign add?
Preaching to the Choir, my friend! AMEN!!What the heck is a negative campaign add?
I think there are two levels of negative campaigning. On one level, it can be said that negative campaigning is any kind that focuses on what's wrong with the other guy, instead of what's right with me. On another level, it could be said that while that kind of campaigning is just normal and expected, negative campaigning is using personal attacks instead of focusing on issues and yours and your opponent's records, or distorting facts to make your opponent look bad. Either way, McCain's campaign was clearly more negative.
There are so many things wrong with this, starting with the word ';add'; which should be ';ad.'; McCain did not accuse Obama of wanting to teach kindergartners how to have sex. Obama said he wanted sex ed to start in kindergarten.

And if you want to talk about overt lies, just go back to all the promises Obama made during the campaign.
I totally agree, apparently some like Sean Hannity, and Bill O' N0TREALLY don't know what negative campaigning is. I especially like the ad that claims Obama's ties with bill ayers .. psh COME ON!
Negative was every add Mccaine put out!
The campaign is over
