What percentage of campaign promises are kept?

Ever four years we go through this. Candidates promise that they will solve every problem, from education to the economy, and at the end of their terms, things are usually worse than when they were elected and their ';plans'; were never implemented because they were not able to get them through Congress. I think the media should publich a report card of sorts, comparing what they said they would do with what they actually did. What do you think? What percentage of campaign promises are kept?
Remember that any one branch of government can't actually enact changes they promise. They need ';help'; from the others. It's funny, because we actually think they can do it alone, and base our votes on that, then get all angry when the ';one person'; we thought would change everything appears to do nothing.

Having said that, they all promise stuff because they feel that they are expected to do so, and don't actually represent their constituents, they represent the people funding their campaign. In the case of the president, they are either a pariah (the current one, for example) or a rallying point. Congress is much harder to get results from, because you only vote in 1/3 at a time, and you don't get results very quickly.

The media has no interest in doing what you (correctly) ask them to do, since they thrive on the drama and false pretenses being built up, so they can destroy them on a slow news day. What percentage of campaign promises are kept?
Ummm... after the candidate is elected, it is usually.... What promises???
dirty dirty politicians

DIRTY
ZERO propaganda tool, they never do anything they say their gonna...mainly cause they cant, like you said it never get by congress or the senate..
The promises made by the politicians, behind closed doors, to their largest contributors are kept at a rate of approximately 100%. The rest of the promises are soon forgotten.
About 5%, and even then they are all fullfilled during the RE election campaigns.
The first answerer is giving out misinformation, none of Obama's campaign promises have been kept because he is not in office to do so. To answer your question, I very much doubt that if even 1% of all campaign promises are kept once the candidate does get elected into office. The is the character of politics.
The media thinks that the type of coverage you are talking about would not result in a large audience. I sure wish they would try it for once instead of just picking up on controversy that contributes absolutely nothing to the meat. I'm so tired of the media trying to make out that the Clinton's are racist that I can't stand it. Everyone, at least over the age of 35 should know that the Clintons are in no way racist.

-18% of campagne promises are kept. Grassroots government is the only place actual changes are made. This is why it is so important to vote on local offices every year.
Maybe 5%. If you look at campaign promises and compare it to the actual actions done in office very few are ever kept.
0% for all candidates and parties. In this sense our democracy is remarkablbly fair and consistent.

Remeber the media are not impartial. If they were to admit that it's all BS and they were the chief purveyors of that BS well it wouldn't look good for them. Don't go looking to the media for acountability.

It's a game and no one is going to start suddenly playing fair.
2%

at best. Both sides.
close to 100%

You only have to listen carefully.

If you think that promises were not kept, it means that you were simply not paying attention.
From Obama - 100%

All others.... about 5%
