It's not the same warm, friendly image and although most of us know the press can manipulate these things, it does impact our thinking and the way we feel about things, often without us even realising it.
Another excellent example is the constant, unrelenting 'war' the Murdoch newspapers have run against the royal family in the UK over several decades.
Once considered respectable and admirable in the public mind, the royal family are now little more than fodder for headlines, with every minute detail of their lives examined and mocked.

The party of the poor, will become more powerful as more and more poor people are created who need government help. The new disenfranchised will vote democrat because the republicans will continue to want to cut back government spending and take their little piece of the pie away. Of course, the only way to fix things is to cut back spending and lower taxes. Obama knows full well what he's doing. He knows raising taxes will slow the economy. He knows prices will go up to cover increases in corporate taxation. He knows The rich will cut back and make employees work harder for less. He knows stock holders will earn less on investments. He is also lying when he states no one under 250,000 will be taxed more. They will be. he intends to roll back the Bush tax decreases that have saved the economy from disaster. Rolling back Bush tax decreases is a monumental tax increase on the poor and middle classes. Unless the general population sees him as the liar he is, they will not change their votes.

I am currently working on a political campaign. In the past, we were able to pay our election day workers to go door-to-door for our Get-Out-The-Vote effort. That is not the case this year.
Normally we were able to recruit High School and/or College Students to help us out. But since we're not paying this year, I doubt we'll be able to entice them to work for us.

How do I start an effective campaign?
Recently a close friend of mine took an overdose because he had been bullied for months secretly. He survived luckily, but his school refused to punish the bullies despite their lack of real remorse.
So his family, his girlfriend and I are attempting to raise awareness.
What I'd like to know is how is the best way to get radio stations, newspapers and even possibly the government to take any notice of our letters?

Call your local BBC or ITV (for instance, I'm in the East or Anglia when they play local news) or even call This Morning (they've dealt with things like this before) on ITV and ask if they would show your story. That's ridiculous. Also, take it up with your local council, since they essentially run the school. My fiance works for a school and has helped parents deal with problems like this. News and the council should help.

Since time is a rare commodity to most small businesses owners, I would say that your best approach is ask for their help honestly and offer to trade/share information with them. As a business person, I get many solicitations for marketing research and nearly all are turned down. Be up front and try to help them if you can and I think you will get some positive responses. If you have a business of your own then it will definitely pay to walk into each business and introduce yourself. Give each owner (try to see the owner, not an employee) an incentive to do the research. Perhaps you could feature his business on you website?

The superdelegates do not, no matter how much some Obama supporters pretend they do, have to follow pledged delegates of popular votes. They cannot overturn anything, merely vote at the convention the way they see fit.
We have a national convention to select a presidential nominee, after all states have been involved - why are so many people so opposed to including all states, and then having the convention? Why do they feel that they, and only they, should determine when other candidates drop out.
I will vote for whomever the party nominates, but I do not approve of the supporters of one candidate, trying to prevent the whole party from deciding.

A large number of highly intelligent people, who have many important things to do, feel very passionately about the causes they choose to support, and feel a duty, as a citizen of a free and open society, to show public support for their causes.

First of all, when you talk about socialism, there are several types of socialist parties in the United States, all of which have very different ideas (for example, the skinheads have one type of socialist party which has very different ideas from the socialist worker's party).
But when you talk about the ';Democratic election campaign goals'; you're getting away from talking about platforms and issues. The ';campaign election goal'; is to get elected. This has nothing to do with socialism.
If you want to know what the difference is between the Democratic party platform and the socialist party platform for 2008, again you have a problem, because the democratic platform is still being worked on and will not be adopted until the Democratic Convention in August in Denver.
Even so, if you look at the issues papers (not platform) of the Socialist Party USA, the types of things where Democrats and Socialist platforms might agree have nothing to do with socialist ideology. For example, many Democrats (and Republicans) want an end to the Iraq war and so do socialist party USA. Does that make the Democrats and Republicans who oppose the war socialists? The Democrat party is in reality the Socialist party and the GOP is the Capitalist party. Since FDR,s time the Dems have been getting more socialist. This whole Lieberman/Warner is another socialist way to get people to cut back on energy. Why don't they just have the courage to increase taxes on energy rather than this creating this huge, complicate scheme? Obama's plan to have the UN tax the US in order to provide more money for poor Africans is another socialist, One World Govt idea from the left.
