Why were there no campaign suspensions during the hurricanes and floods?

During the Iowa floods and Hurricanes Hanna %26amp; Ike, there were no suspensions (or suggestions of suspensions) during those crisis-es.





Why all the urgency to do so now?


Weren't those other situations urgent too?


Was 'Country 1st' then?

Why didn't McCain postpone his birthday celebration on the tarmac with Bush while people were literally drowning in New Orleans?? Why hasn't McCain voted 64% of the time in congress?Why were there no campaign suspensions during the hurricanes and floods?
A suspension of the campaign would not have caused the hurricane to turn around and miss the Gulf Coast. There were no votes pending in Congress that would have delayed the hurricane or sent it packing back into the Gulf. Currently there is a bill before Congress that is as important as any bill that has been considered for the past two years. That is why there is a suspension. Are you capable of understanding the difference in a natural disaster and a $700 Billion decision?

I think it鈥檚 bad enough that Obama is campaigning and fund raising so much on foreign soil. The trip through Europe? Now an elitist-of-the-elite gathering in Switzerland? But refusing to call off, or even just delay, the event while your political colleagues are focused on what could have been another major disaster in the gulf coast region just takes the cake.





McCain is always COUNTRY FIRST so that is what he is doing now, putting COUNTRY FIRST, where NObama is always Obama first and always will be if by some stupid reason he is elected. He has ACORN backing him so we know how they are.

There weren't any debates scheduled then! D'uh! They did ';tone down'; the convention though. The lobbyists parties were still held, but the convention was toned down.
Ok... now I am not meaning to disrespect the people that suffered or were displaced because of the natural disasters... but did they effect the whole world at one time? like our economic crisis just might? No, I didn't think so...
