What happens to a candidate's campaign contributions if that candidate loses in the primary?

If that candidate has money left over, does it simply go to his or her party's general election fund? If so, what happens if that candidate doesn't have a party?What happens to a candidate's campaign contributions if that candidate loses in the primary?
After the primary, it goes into a candidate's campaign fund. This fund is kept separate from their personal money and can only be spent on things related to the person's political career. When they retire, the account becomes their own personal money.What happens to a candidate's campaign contributions if that candidate loses in the primary?
There won't be any money left. They have to pay staffers, payoff loans, etc.

If they have anything left over after they take everything they can for themselves and their friends, then it gets put into the parties coffers.
All candidates receive matching funds courtesy of you...
Yahoo! Answers is garbage and is a black hole of intelligent information.
I believe it is all donated to the ';human fund';
