What happens to campaign funds after the election?

I mean if a person doesn't spend all the money win or lose what happens to it legally? What happens to campaign funds after the election?
The main rule is that the funds may not be used for personal use (clothing, vacations, etc,).

Funds are first use to pay remaining bills, including expenses incurred while wrapping up the campaign.

If surplus funds are left over, candidates for federal office (House of Representatives, Senate, Vice President or President) can save the funds for a re-election campaign, or can donate an unlimited amount to a charity or political party. They can also donate limited amounts directly to other candidates.

Candidates for state and local office are subject to rules set by their states. What happens to campaign funds after the election?
stays in the gd campaign chest until they use it for more re-election bs. another part of our corrupt political and governmental system. hundreds of ways they get around weak, wimpy rules. should go to goodwill, salvation army anything but the gd politicians. we need an anti-corruption party where all such funds should go. sly sobs and corruption is just too much to stand for any longer. if you are not angry, you don't have a clue. we have tolerated their bs for years. stop the insanity of this process. watch the sorry sob's in in congress on CSPAN, never watch the mainstream media. omissions and sly misrepresentations can only mislead you.
He used the remainder on the Attorneys so he wouldn't have to show his birth certificate.
Blagojevich collects the remaining funds for his escape to Mexico.
